Things to Do in Kaş

Kaş Scuba Diving

Kaş is well known as a hub for scuba diving with a varity of dive boats to choose from and courses to take depending on ones diving ability. Daily tours head out early in the height of summer and provide the opportunity to explore the dive wrecks Kaş is famous for. Lunch is included in the price of the dive as is equipment and tuition.

Kekova Boat Tour

This region, located between the Kas and Demre districts of Antalya, is one the most important touristic areas of Turkey. Kekova is the generic name of region covering Uçagiz village, Simena (Kalekoy), Batıksehir, Akvaryum bay and Tersane bay. The area is steeped in history and remnants of Lycia, Rome, and Byzantine times can all be seen. But what really draws people to the region is the sunken city destroyed by an earthquake in 2nd Century AD and visible by kayak and boat tours.

Lycian Way Trekking

The Lycian Way is the first long distance trekking path along Turkey’s south western coastline. It stretches from Fethiye to Antalya and as the name suggests follows the path of the former Lycian cities. This 500 kilometre route boasts breathtaking coastal views, the beautiful flauna and flora of the Mediterranean, traditional Turkish villages and awe inspiring ancient sites.

Horse Riding

Horse riding in the olive groves and pine forests above Kaş Town is a very popular activity with both locals and tourists. The horse farm is used to host riders of all ages and abilities and has trekking paths suited to such levels.

Patara Sand Dunes

The Lycian village of Patara is famous for a host of reasons; it’s large archaeological site comprising of ruins from the Romans, Byzantines and Lycian periods, 12 km sandy beach which is protected from development as it is a nesting ground for Caretta Caretta Turtles and it’s magnificent sand dunes. On a clear evening the Greek island of Rhodes can be seen from the dunes. Enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset on the sand dunes is a must if you visit the Village of Patara.

Saklikent Tour

Saklikent is an 18 km long and up to 300 meter high gorge hosting the River Xanthos which starts in the rocky highlands. It is truly spectacular, especially in early summer, when the river still holds relatively large amounts of water. Saklikent Gorge is located just below the Taurus Mountains between Fethiye and Kas, east of Esençay Valley.

Sea Kayaking

Sea kayaking is a very popular activity because of the many magnificent bays accessible only by kayak or boat. Both single or double kayaks can be hired allowing for a fun day out with friends and family discovering the rich abundance of ancient sites underneath the sea.
